GP Assistant


Dave Cowie has recently qualified as a GP assistant. The GP Assistant (GPA) is a new role with the purpose to relieve some of the pressure on GPs. GP Assistants support doctors in the smooth running of their surgery by handling the routine administration and some basic observations and clinical duties, enabling the GP to focus on the patient

The Community Dietician sees patients following referral from the doctor or nurse.

Health Visitors

Our Health visitors who are based at Ainsdale Centre for health and well being are trained nurses who provide information and guidance on healthcare problems and health education. They are routinely involved with the under 5’s and their families.

District Nurses

The district nurses, visit patients in their own homes who are too ill to come to the surgery. They carry out nursing care following referral from the doctor

A team of midwives hold an ante-natal clinic at the surgery. They visit mothers and babies during the first 10 days following delivery.
